Kingston Acquires Ironkey Assets from Imation

Last year during Microsoft's Worldwide Partner Conference in Orlando, Florida we profiled Ironkey by Imation and their line of Windows To Go USB devices.

There is news today that Ironkey, a subsidiary of Imation for the last five years, has been acquired by Kingston for an undisclosed sum that will bring all Ironkey assets to Kingston.

According to the press release, current Ironkey customers do not need to worry about big changes with this acquisition.

During this integration process, Kingston wants to assure all parties that there will be no immediate changes to the way business is transacted by channel partners currently supporting IronKey products. Kingston is known worldwide for its dedication and level of service to its partners, resellers and distributors, and our goal is to maintain strong communication and customer relationships during this time.

The Ironkey Enterprise Management Services platform which is used to manage encrypted USB drives has been acquired by DataLocker, Inc. as they are the company that also purchased the SafeConsole Management System for Kingston management ready USB devices. This will consolidate all of the management tools under one umbrella.
