JSI Tip 9876. You cannot use Event Viewer to modify the properties of a log on a remote computer after you use the net use command to connect to the computer in Windows Server 2003 with SP1?

Due to changes that were implemented in SP1, Event Viewer is not authenticated on the remote computer when you use the net use command to connect.

To workaround this behavior, use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to the remote computer.

1. Start / Run / mstsc / OK.

2. Press the Options >> button.

3. Enter the Computer, User name, Password, and Domain.

4. Press Connect.

5. In the Remote Desktop window, use Start / Run / eventvwr.msc / OK to start Event Viewer.
