When you resume from hibernation, Window XP draws the desktop wallpaper slowly.
This behavior is the result of low system memory. The effect is more pronounced if the wallpaper has a large file size, and if you hibernated and resumed several times since the last boot.
To workaround this behavior, consider using no wallpaper, or wallpaper with a smaller file size.
To change the wallpaper:
1. Right-click the desktop and press Properties.
2. Select the Desktop tab.
3. In the Background list, select a different file, or select None.
4. Press Apply and OK.
