JSI Tip 9376. How can I disable some Start Balloon Menu tips?

When you hover the cursor over a Start menu item, or over a notification area icon, the system display pop-up text with additional information about the object. If you wish to suppress Click here to begin on the Start button, Where have all my programs gone on the Start menu, and Where have my icons gone in the notification area of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, you can enable the Remove Balloon Tips on Start Menu items policy at User Configuration / Administrative Templates / Start Menu and Taskbar.

If the policy is Not configured, you can prevent these pop-ups by setting the NoSMBalloonTip Value Name, a REG_DWORD data type, to 1 at KEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer.
