JSI Tip 9234. How can I create a Printers and Faxes icon on my desktop, or open it in a script?

If you wish to create a Printers and Faxes icon on your desktop, in addition to the link on the Start menu:

1. Create a new desktop shortcut.

2. In the Type the location of the item, enter rundll32.exe SHELL32.DLL, SHHelpShortcuts_RunDLL PrintersFolder, using the exact case.

3. Finish the dialog.

4. Open the Properties of the shortcut and set a suitable icon. I set one from %SystemRoot%\System32\Shell32.dll.

If you just wish to open the Printers and Faxes folder from a command, just use

rundll32.exe SHELL32.DLL, SHHelpShortcuts_RunDLL PrintersFolder, using the exact case.
