JSI Tip 9001. You are unable to upgrade to Windows XP from your current operating system because of incompatible software?

When you attempt to upgrade to Windows XP from your current operating system, the upgrade fails and you may receive the following error messages:

Migration DLL c:\windows\setup\temp\dll000xx\migrate.dll through an exception in migratesystem9x. The dll will not be processed.

The upgrade pack Microsoft WIA failed in migratesystem9x with error code 998. Setup cannot process this pack.

These issues will occur if you have incompatible software, such as an ant-virus or CD writer, installed on your current O/S.

To workaround this problem, remove the incompatible 3rd-party software before you begin the upgrade.
