JSI Tip 8945. When you attempt to monitor performance for a 32-bit process on a server running Windows Server 2003 for Itanium-based systems, some performance counters are NOT available?

Some 32-bit performance counter objects have NOT been implemented in Windows Server 2003 for Itanium-based systems. The 32-bit Windows sub-system, WOW64, does not have corresponding 32-bit versions of all 64-bit performance counters.

To find out if a 32-bit version of a performance counter object is implemented for Windows Server 2003 for Itanium-based systems:

1. Open a CMD.EXE window.

2. Type the following commands, pressing Enter after each line:

cd /d %SystemRoot%\SysWow64
copy %SystemRoot%\System32\Perfmon.msc *.*
mmc.exe /32 perfmon.msc

3. If a performance counter object does NOT appear, but it is available when you run System Monitor normally, it is NOT implemented as a 32-bit version.
