JSI Tip 8623. The Windows Tablet PC Edition 2005 Web quick key inserts 'hp://' instead of 'http://'?

When you use the Tablet PC Input Panel Web quick key to insert http:// into an Internet Explorer address, hp:// is inserted instead.

This behavior will occur if you have IntelliType Pro 5.0 or IntelliType Pro 5.1 installed.

To workaround this behavior, remove Type32.exe from your Startup folder, or uninstall IntelliType Pro.

1. Right-click the Start button and press Open.

2. Double-click Programs.

3. Double-click Startup.

4. Delete Type32.exe, or drag it to your desktop or another folder to save it.

5. Shutdown and restart your Tablet PC.

NOTE: Removing Type32.exe from your Startup folder will disable the Microsoft Office Keyboard Hot Keys.

1. Start / Run / Appwiz.cpl / OK.

2. Select Microsoft IntelliPoint Pro 5.0 or Microsoft IntelliPoint Pro 5.1.

3. Press Change/Remove.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
