JSI Tip 8222. You receive Event ID 61 when you print to a file in Windows Server 2003?

When you print to a file in Windows Server 2003, you may receive Event ID 61 in the System event log.

If you do NOT specify the full path of the file, you will receive the following error if you do NOT have permission to write to the %Systemroot%\System32 folder, which is where the <FileName>.PRN file is created.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Print
Event Category: None
Event ID: 61
Description: The document document name owned by username failed to print on printer printer name. Win32 error code returned by the print processor: 3003. A StartDocPrinter call was not issued.

NOTE: This event will also be recorded if there is a problem with a driver or port monitor.

NOTE: This will also cause paged-pool memory usage to be high.

When you create a file as the destination of a local port print job, specify the full path, and do NOT use a system folder.
