JSI Tip 7970. When you scan for updates on the Windows Update site, you receive 'Error 0x800A138F'?

The subject problem may occur if you are running NetOp Remote Control or NetOp School.

To fix the problem:

1. Download the http://www.netop.com/tech/download/fix/fixwinup.exe fix.

2. Open a CMD.EXE window.

3. Type "<Drive:>\Folder\fixwinup.exe" -x and press Enter, where "<Drive:>\Folder\fixwinup.exe" is the complete path to the downloaded fix.

You should receive:

The update from the NetOp Web site is a registry update utility to prevent the Windows Update v4 from failing.

By running this utility, your registry will be updated if you have NetOp Remote Control or NetOp School installed.
 Afterwards, the operation of Windows update v4 will not be affected by the NetOp installation.

Only needed on Windows 2000/XP.
