JSI Tip 7718. The DirectX 9.0 Diagnostic Tool (Dxdiag.exe) displays different configuration information than previous versions?

Dxdiag.exe displays configuration information about your computer's audio, video, and input devices.

Starting with version 9.0, some fields show n/a, or more, less, and different information than in previous versions.

Previous versions used custom detection code to discover the information. Version 9.0 queries your computer's BIOS, via WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation), to discover the information.
