JSI Tip 7627. When you start Windows XP, you receive 'WJView error - Could not execute main'?

When you start Windows XP, you receive:

WJView error
Could not execute main. The system cannot find the file specified.

This error is indicative of configuring Windows XP to use the WJView program to run a Java program at startup.

To workaround this problem.

1. Start / Run / Msconfig.exe / OK.

2. Select the Startup tab.

3. Clear any WJView.exe boxes.

4. Press OK.

5. Start / Run / Regedit.exe / OK.

6. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.

7. Delete any Value Name whose data value contains a reference to WJVIEW.exe.

8. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.

9. Delete any Value Name whose data value contains a reference to WJVIEW.exe.
