JSI Tip 7586. Why does the Windows Server 2003 Terminal Server Licensing tool list licenses as 'Windows 2000 Server-Terminal Services CAL Token (Per-Device)' or 'Windows 2000 Terminal Services Client Access License'?

The way that a license name is displayed is based upon the method that you used to install and activate the client license pack on the server.

Windows 2000 Server-Terminal Services CAL Token (Per-Device) is used when the server is configured to use the Automatic (recommended) installation method.

Windows 2000 Terminal Services Client Access License is used when the license server is configured to use the Web Browser or Telephone installation methods.
