JSI Tip 7403. How do I retain a desktop folder's view that is different from my default view, if it is NOT remembered in Windows XP?

If Windows XP refuses to remember the View settings for a desktop folder, try the following:

1. Right-click the desktop folder and press Target and Properties.

2. Select the Customize tab.

3. Toggle the Use this folder type as a template, simply to enable the Apply button.

4. Check the Also apply this template to all subfolders box.

5. Press Apply and OK.

6. Double-click the desktop folder.

7. On the View menu, select the view that you want.
