JSI Tip 7022. When you try to play a media file in Internet Explorer on Windows 2000, you receive 'Error# 80040265' and Internet Explorer cannot be closed?

The complete error message is:

You have encountered the following error while using Windows Media Player:
Error# 80040265

This behavior will occur if the media file is invalid, as in an incorrectly formatted ASX file.

To close Internet Explorer:

1. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE and then press Task Manager.

2. Select the Applications tab.

3. Select the Internet Explorer entry in the Task list.

4. Press End Task.

5. Press End Now in the End Program dialog.

6. Exit Task Manager.
