JSI Tip 6922. Microsoft SQL Server Notification Services 2.0 Setup reports 'The Engine Components and Client Components features require Microsoft .Net Framework'?

When you run Microsoft SQL Server Notification Services 2.0 Setup on Windows Server 2003, you receive:

The Engine Components and Client Components features require Microsoft .Net Framework. Install the Microsoft .Net Framework and run setup again to install these features.

The Microsoft SQL Server Notification Services 2.0 Setup program incorrectly detects the version 1.1 of .NET Framework that is installed on your Windows Server 2003 computer.

To fix this problem, download and install SQL Server Notification Services 2.0 Service Pack 1 (SP1).
