JSI Tip 6767. How do I block the 'SQL Server 2000 SP2 and below is not supported by this version of Windows' message during an unattended installation of SQL Server 2000, Analysis Services, or corresponding Service Packs on Windows Server 2003?

To block the subject Appshelp message, prior to the unattended installation of SQL Server 2000, Analysis Services, or corresponding Service Packs:

1. Copy / Paste the following to a NoAppshelp.reg file:

REGEDIT4

\[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\]
"\{ff25f0b5-c894-45f4-a29d-1bdd0c7926cd\}"==dword:00000001

2. Merge the NoAppshelp.reg file with the registry, or run regedit /s NoAppshelp.reg.
