JSI Tip 6752. You cannot connect to a 'server' and event ID 3034 is logged in your System event log?

If your System event log contains one or more event ID 3034 messages, with Source: MRxSmb, and the last DWORD value in the Data section is 80090322, you have tried to connect to a 'server' with a computer name that is different than the actual name of the 'server'.

This can occur if two computers accidentally register the same IP address in DNS.

See Using NSlookup.exe.

NOTE: If the 'server' is remote over a PPTP link, and you use DDNS, this issue may occur until the 'servers' DNS entry has been fully replicated.
