Group Policy Settings Reference

Version 1.0

How to Use This Spreadsheet

This spreadsheet lists the policy settings for computer and user configurations included in the .adm files delivered with Windows Server 2003. The policy settings included cover Windows 2000, Windows XP Professional and Windows Server 2003. .adm files are used to expose policy settings when editing Group Policy Objects (GPO's) in the Group Policy Object Editor (often called GPEdit).

Each .adm file is represented by a single worksheet within this spreadsheet. Additional an "All" worksheet is provided for ease of reference. By using the ADM Parser utility (admx.msi, available with the Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit) it is possible to import custom .adm files into the spreadsheet to better reflect your own environment. See the ADM Parser utility help for further details.

You can use the filtering capabilities included in this spreadsheet to obtain a specific subset of data based on one or a combination ofvalues available in one or more of the header categories. In addtion, you can select Custom in the drop-down list for any of the header categories to add additional filtering criteria within that category. To obtain a specific subset of data, click the drop-down arrow in the header cell(s) which contain(s) the value(s), or combination of values, on which you want to filter, and then click the desired value in the drop down list. For example, to view a subset of GPO settings that are available through the inetres.adm template and viewed under the Computer Configuration node, select inetres.adm in the Administrative template file (.adm) drop-down list and Computer Configuration in the Node drop-down list.
