JSI Tip 6123. The Windows XP Welcome screen appears sometime after the computer becomes idle?

Sometime after becoming idle, the Windows XP Welcome screen appears, and you may be prompted to select an account to logon on?

This behavior is the result of either of the following:

- You have enabled the On resume, password protect feature.

- You have configured the computer to prompt for a password when you resume from standby.

To disable the On resume, password protect feature:

1. Control Panel / Display.

2. Select the Screen Saver tab.

3. Clear the On resume, password protect box.

4. Press Apply and OK.

To disable the Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby feature:

1. Control Panel / Power Options.

2. Select the Advanced tab.

3. Clear the Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby box.

4. Press Apply and OK.
