JSI Tip 5838. How do I disable scripting in Outlook Express?

Outlook Express enables scripting by default. Scripting executes when you open a message or preview it in the Preview Pane.

To disable scripting in Outlook Express 5+:

01. Start Outlook Express.

02. Select Options on the Tools menu.

03. Select the Security tab.

04. Select Restricted sites zone (More secure) and press Apply and OK.

05. Start Internet Explorer.

06. Select Internet Options on the Tools menu.

07. Select the Security tab.

08. Select Restricted Sites and press the Custom Level button.

09. Scroll to the Scripting subject and check Disable under Active Scripting.

10. Press OK, Yes if prompted, and OK.
