JSI Tip 5812. You cannot play .wav files when NetMeeting is running with the audio features enabled?

When sounds are assigned to events in Control Panel / Sound and ....., they do NOT play.

When you attempt to manually play then, you receive:

Windows cannot play the sound <filename>. Your sound card may be in use.

If you try to play a .wav file in Sound Recorder, you receive:

Another application is playing audio. You can either interrupt the application or wait until it is done. Then try using Sound Recorder again.

If the audio features of NetMeeting are enabled, and NetMeeting is running, this is expected behavior.

To workaround this feature:

1. If your Audio toolbar is NOT visible in NetMeeting, check Toolbar on the View menu.

2. Clear both check boxes on the Audio toolbar.
