JSI Tip 5476. How can a Windows XP Professional computer running Terminal Services in non-Application Server mode advertise itself?

Windows XP only displays Terminal Servers that have Terminal Services installed in Application Server mode.

To allow a Windows XP Professional computer that has Terminal Services installed in non-Application Server mode to advertise itself:

1. Use the Registry Editor to navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server.

2. Double-click the TSAdvertise Value Name, a REG_DWORD data type, and set the data value to 1.

3. Exit the Registry Editor.

4. Restart the Windows XP Professional computer.
