JSI Tip 5042. Windows XP does NOT recognize all your disk space?

If the Disk Management Utility or Windows Explorer only recognizes about 2GB of your large (30GB) disk drive, you most likely have a BIOS problem.

To determine if your BIOS is the problem:

1. Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM and restart your computer.

2. When prompted to start from the CD, press any key.

3. Press Enter on the Windows XP Setup screen.

4. Press F8 to accepts the End User License Agreement.

5. When the list of Windows XP installations appears, press ESC.

6. When the partition information appears, verify that the partitioned and unpartitioned space totals to your disk size.

7. Abort the setup.

If all the disk space is NOT listed, contact your motherboard manufacturer.
