JSI Tip 4783. How do I get the Remote Desktop Start menu to display the Logoff and Shutdown choices?

When you connect to a Windows XP Professional computer using Remote Desktop, the Start menu doesn't display the Logoff and Shutdown buttons?

When you use the standard Start menu, the Logoff button is available.

If you use the Classic Start menu, only the Disconnect button is available.

To add the missing buttons to the Classic Start menu:

1. Right-click the taskbar and press Properties.

2. Select the Start Menu tab.

3. Make sure that Classic Start menu is checked and press Customize.

4. Check the Display Log Off box and press OK.

5. Press OK.
