JSI Tip 4470. How do I delegate security for a printer in Microsoft Windows XP?

In Windows XP, you can NOT delegate print operator security using Directory Services, because printer security is local to the print server.

To delegate security for a printer:

1. Control Panel / Printers and Other Hardware / Printers and Faxes.

2. Right-click the printer and press Properties.

3. On the Security tab, add accounts with the appropriate security settings.
