JSI Tip 4427. You can't shut down, restart, Log off, stand by, or hibernate Windows 2000 or Windows XP when the computer is docked?

When you try to use the subject functions on a docked Windows 2000 or Windows XP workstation, the computer may appear to hang?

Some types of docking stations suspend the undocking process until you physically detach the computer from the docking station. If you press the Eject PC button, Undock Computer button, or press any undock switch, the computer suspends all the other operating system processes.

The only workaround after activating an undocking process is to physically remove the computer from the docking stations. This will allow you to perform the shut down, restart, Log off, stand by, or hibernate function.
