JSI Tip 4381. The display on your Windows XP laptop dims when it is running on battery power?

If your BIOS supports the alteration of display brightness level when using battery power, and your computer runs in ACPI (Advanced Configuration Power Interface) mode, Windows XP will use the functionality.

There is no way to disable this feature in Windows XP, but you may be able to disable it in the BIOS.
