JSI Tip 3913. Windows 2000 NTBackup does NOT backup .EVT files for Backup Operators?

The subject behavior is by design.

Only local or domain administrators have sufficient permissions to backup and restore event log files.

NOTE: Restoring an .EVT file will overwrite newer events.
