JSI Tip 3798. Command interpreter space character differences between Windows NT/2000 and Win95.

Windows NT/2000 uses CMD.EXE as the command interpreter and Windows 95 uses Command.com.

Windows NT/2000 and Windows 95 will generate different results from the same command:

md This is a Directory

Windows 95 will generate an error message:

Too many parameters - is

Windows NT/2000 will create four folders:

This
is
a
Directory
If you type:

md "This is a Directory"

both operating systems will create a single long folder name:

This is a Directory.
