JSI Tip 3788. Why don't all Windows 2000 installations have a ServicePackFiles directory?

After installing a Windows 2000 Service Pack, some computers have a %Systemroot%\ServicePackFiles folder and some do not?

If the Service Pack was installed via a CD-ROM or a distribution share, the %Systemroot%\ServicePackFiles folder is NOT created. The ServicePackSourcePath is set to the installation source path.

If you deleted the %Systemroot%\ServicePackFiles folder, it can be re-created by reinstalling the Service Pack.

NOTE: The %Systemroot%\ServicePackFiles is NOT created from a slipstream.
