Windows 2000 SP2 will enable Winsock Direct (WSD) on Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
WSD is used when you install a System Area Network (SAN) card and drivers. See 3359 » What is the difference between SAN (System Area Network) and SAN (Storage Area Network)?.
NOTE: WSD is NOT available on a Windows 2000 Server.
