JSI Tip 3750. When you run Netdiag, you receive '[Fatal] Failed to get system information of this machine'?

When you run the Netdiag tool, you receive the subject error message?

The Netdiag tool requires that the Remote Registry service be started.

To start the service, open a CMD prompt and type:

net start RemoteRegistry

To configure the Remote Registry service to automatically start when Windows 2000 boots:

1. Right-click My Computer and press Manage.

2. Expand Services and Applications.

3. Expand Services.

4. Double-click Remote Registry service.

5. On the General tab, set Startup type: to Automatic.

6. Press Apply.

7. Press OK.

8. Close Computer Management.
