JSI Tip 3658. How do I prevent Windows 2000 from keeping history of recently opened documents?

In tip 1241, I described the NoRecentDocsMenu value name, which is the registry entry underlying the Remove Documents menu from Start Menu Group Policy at User Configuration\AdministrativeTemplates\Start Menu & Taskbar.

If you implement that policy, you should also implement the Do not keep history of recently opened documents Group Policy at User Configuration\AdministrativeTemplates\Start Menu & Taskbar, to prevent the system from saving the shortcuts in the Recent folder.

If the policy is Not configured, you can enable it by setting the NoRecentDocsHistory value name, a REG_DWORD data type, at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer, to 1.
