JSI Tip 3619. Windows 2000 computers with insufficent memory may hang when you use the CD-ROM or Volume Control?

When the CD-ROM or DVD drive fails the first access attempt, computers with low memory do not properly handle the retry. The retry remains in the queue, as do subsequent attempts, eventually consuming all available memory.

This condition can also happen when you use the Volume Control.

The only solution is to add more memory (RAM) to your computer.
