When you try to print to a local printer which is attached to LPT1, you receive:
Error writing to LPT1, Access Denied.
If you installed and uninstalled a 3rd party Port Monitor, possibly as part of a network printing package, there may still be registry entries that need to be cleaned up.
1. Use Regedt32 to navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors
2. Delete any Port Monitor sub-keys that should no longer be installed.
3. Shutdown and restart your computer.
