In tip 0938, we morphed the Task Scheduler into the Schedule Service.
If you prefer, you could try the following approach first:
1. Use Regedt32 to navigate to HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\SchedulingAgent.
2. Double-click the UninstallString value name in the right-hand pane and copy the data to the clipboard.
3. Exit Regedt32.
4. Press Start / Run and paste the data into the Open box.
5. Press OK.
6. Using the chart in tip 0938, verify that the Schedule Service is properly configured.
NOTE: The UninstallString should contain a data value similar to:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSectionEx C:\WINNT\INF\mstask.inf,,,256
