JSI Tip 3056. Event ID 30012 occurs with Windows 2000 NAT?

If you are running the Network Address Translation (NAT) service, your System event log may contain:

Event ID: 30012
Source: ipnathlp
Category: None
Type: Warning
Description: The DHCP allocator detected network address translation (NAT) enabled on the interface with index <INDEX>.
The allocator has disabled itself on the interface in order to avoid confusing DHCP clients.
This warning means that the DHCP allocator service is NOT binding to the public interface. This is by design.

The only reason that you are getting this warning is that you changed the logging level of the NAT service to log errors and warnings.

To resolve the issue, change the logging level of the NAT service to log only errors.
