When you go to Control Panel / Power Options, Hibernate and Standby may not be available, even though your computer BIOS is current and your computer meets all the the requirements.
If you are using the VGA video driver, these options won't be available.
You must install a proper video driver for your video card, to make Hibernate and Standby available.
