JSI Tip 2397. The Computer Management snap-in may display an incorrect type for disk defragmenter?

When you select Storage in the left hand pane, you may see garbage in the Disk Defragmenter Type column, such as:

         Refresh Diskview

         (c:) Analyzed |%100

         ::_nodocstore_::

         AGAINWITHTEKLINGONS

         Logical Drives

         IIS:://mr-ed2/SmtpSue

         tive Registrations

         Show &Related Links

This indicates pointer corruption, which thankfully, is just cosmetic.

To fix the problem, quit the Computer Management snap-in and restart it. This should reset the Type value.
