JSI Tip 1716. You can't PING a router on a remote network from a RAS client?.

If you are unable to PING a router on a remote network from a RAS client, using TCP/IP, after you receive an IP address from the RAS server:

1. The most frequent cause is that you installed a network component and failed to reapply your latest service pack.

2. The router's ARP cache contains this IP address with a different MAC address.

To resolve the problem:

1. Apply your lattest Service Pack.

2. Clear the IP address from the router's ARP cache. Check with the manufacturer for how.
