JSI Tip 1607. Time stamp differences on Windows NT AS/400?

Documents stored on a IBM AS/400 using the Integrated PC Server (IPCS) adapter to run Windows NT show a 1 or 2 hour discrepancy between the creation/modification time and the actual time the document was created on the W9x or WinNT client?

Win9x and WinNT computers normally automatically adjust for Daylight Savings Time. The IPCS does not have a clock and depends upon the AS/400 for its' time. The OS/400 operating system does not automatically adjust for Daylight Savings Time.

To resolve the problem, reset the OS/400 offset from GMT at the beginning and end of Daylight Savings Time by modifying the QUTCOFFSET registry entry on the AS/400.
