JSI Tip 1540. Hardware profiles.

To create a hardware profile:

1. Right click My Computer.

2. Click Properties.

3. Select the Hardware Profiles tab.

4. Click the Original Configuration (current) to select it and click Copy.

5. Type a name that identifies the profile you are creating and click OK.

To disable a device in a profile:

1. Control Panel / Devices / <The device you wish to disable>.

2. Click HW Profiles.

3. The dialog box that is displayed shows the status of the selected device in all profiles. To disable the device, select the profile and click Disable.

To disable a service in a profile:

1. Control Panel / Services / <The service you wish to disable>.

2. Click HW Profiles.

3. The dialog box that is displayed shows the status of the selected service in all profiles. To disable the service, select the profile and click Disable.

NOTE: To create a Network-disabled profile, after you Copy, select the profile in My Computer / Properties / Hardware Profiles. Click Properties. On the Network tab, check the Network-disabled hardware profile box to disable all network adapters.
