When you view a directory map alias in Netware Directory Services (NDS) which has LFN (OS/2 Name Space) support on a Netware 4.x server, only 8.3 file names are displayed.
After applying SP5 or later, use Regedt32 to navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NWRDR\parameters
On the Edit menu, Add Value name FavourLongNames, as a type REG_DWORD, and set the data value to 1. Shutdown and restart Windows NT.
NOTE: The FavourLongNames will work in all instances, except when the directory map object contains the
short name space and that path differs from the LFN path.
