JSI Tip 1158. Network printer can not be seen.

If clients can not see a network printer, use Start / Settings / Printers on the Print Server to open the printers Properties. Then click OK.

If you receive:

Printer setting could not Be saved. Data area passed to a system call is too small.
122L Error_insufficiant_Buffer

the printer share has become corrupted.

To fix the problem:

. Open the printers' Properties and click Not Shared on the Sharing tab (don't forget to remember the share name).

. Click OK and close the Printers folder.

. Use Control Panel / Services / Spooler to Stop the Spooler.

. Use Regedt32 to verfiy that:

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Shares\<ShareName>\Security and

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Shares\<ShareName> are not present.

   If they are, delete them.

. Use Control Panel / Services / Spooler to Start the Spooler.

. Use Start / Settings / Printers to re-create the printer's share.
