JSI Tip 10504. Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 1 ignores your color settings?

When you set the Ignore colors specified on Web pages option in Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1, the colors that you select at Tools / Internet Options / General tab / Colors are not used by Web pages.

NOTE: The Ignore colors specified on Web pages option is at Tools / Internet Options / General tab / Accessibility.

This behavior occurs after installing:

824145 MS03-048: November 2003 Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer.
832894 MS04-004: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer.

To fix this problem:

1. Install 871260 - An update rollup is available for Internet Explorer versions 5.x and 6.0.

2. Using REG.EXE, built into Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and later operating systems, or installed from the Windows 2000 Support Tools, type the following command and press Enter:

REG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_OPTIONS_BACKGROUNDCOLOR_KB843516" /V iexplore.exe /T REG_DWORD /F /D 1
