JSI Tip 10256. Windows XP unexpectedly enables the Internet Explorer Work Offline option?

While using Internet Explorer on Windows XP, Work Offline is unexpectedly enabled.

To workaround this behavior:

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. Inspect the Work Offline option on the File menu for a check mark.

3. Use the Tools menu to select Internet Options.

4. Select the Connections tab.

5. Check the Never dial a connection option.

6. Select the Advanced tab.

7. Clear the Enable offline items to be synchronized on a schedule box.

8. Press Apply and OK.

9. Uncheck the Work Offline option on the File menu.
