JSI Tip 10246. What is the meaning of the 11 tick marks on the System Restore Disk space usage slider?

When you configure System Restore in Control Panel / System by selecting the (C:) drive on the System Restore tab and pressing Settings, you see a slider with 11 tick marks, from Min to Max.

The first tick mark (Min) is normally 200 MB for the boot drive and 50 MB for non-system drives. The last tick mark (Max) is normally the greater of 400 MB or 12% of the drive. The remaining tick marks divide the space, rounding off to display whole percentages.
