JSI Tip 0841. NT 4.0 hangs after installing SP4 on a laptop?

SP4 installs a new version of PCMCIA.SYS.

If you were running a third party version of PCMCIA.SYS, boot to an alternate install of Windows NT and:

Rename the primary %SystemRoot%\System32\Drivers\PCMCIA.SYS to PCMCIA.SP4.

Copy the primary %SystemRoot%\$NtServicePackUninstall$\PCMCIA.SYS to the primary %SystemRoot%\System32\Drivers\ folder.

When you restart your normal installation, reinstall any third party PC-CARD software.
