Internet Security Systems (ISS) and Network Associates (NAI) have announced an alliance to deliver integrated security products and services. NAI will combine its fault isolation and performance management software, Sniffer Technologies, with ISS' intrusion-detection software, RealSecure.
“This alliance is a result of our maniacal focus on delivering world-class technology to keep our customers' networks secure and available,” said George Samenuk, NAI chairman and CEO. “Integrating our market-leading technologies, NAI and ISS will look to create the industry's strongest options for defending against the full spectrum of hybrid Internet threats.”
ISS said it will combine NAI's McAfee antivirus software with RealSecure and also offer customers managed security services. Tom Noonan, ISS president, chairman, and CEO said, “Network Associates and Internet Security Systems share a common vision of delivering comprehensive protection solutions capable of keeping up with today’s rapidly changing threat environment. Today, we are excited to unveil the next step toward fulfilling that vision: the extension of Internet Security Systems’ RealSecure pervasive protection platform to effectively protect from all types of threats across networks, servers, and desktops.”
In addition, the companies will join efforts to research future combined product offerings. ISS' X-Force security research group will also work with NAI's Anti-Virus Emergency Response Team and Computer Vulnerability Emergency Response Team Labs. Both companies expect the combined efforts can better respond to evolving threats.
